Starting from scratch has its challenges and quickly reminds you to appreciate the little things so easily overlooked when you are at an established company. I remember when my old company first got the latest in PC technology with a 10mb hard drive. Today, for half the money, a new computer has a billion (say it like Austin Powers, it’s more fun) times more power and features.

With collaboration tools like Skype and Gotomeeting, it’s amazing how easy it is to work side by side with someone who is miles away. Google Voice allows us to have our office phone anywhere and everywhere. Social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn make it possible to keep a lifetime of resources close at hand. So while it’s hard to start over, technology is certainly making it much easier. I have more ways to support my customers than ever before.
